From October through January I enjoyed being on set working with the wonderful Damien Chazelle and his entire cast of actors on the upcoming film First Man. Here's a photo of me and one of my favorite new actor friends from the production...
The film is based on the biography of Neil Armstrong by James Hansen, and I enjoyed getting to know Jim and some of the astronauts who visited the set. I'll be able to tell you more about it once it opens next fall. I think you are going to love it!
In February I coached dialects for the Alliance Theatre's beautiful production of Alix Sobler's new play Sheltered, directed by Kimberly Senior. It was terrific to be in the room with such a fine group of theatre collaborators, and a particular joy to reunite with John Skelley, a graduate of the Guthrie BFA in acting program and my former student there.
Tonight we open my adaptation of Lope de Vega's Fuente Ovejuna at GTA. It has been a joy to direct and choreograph our wonderful students in this bi-lingual production. Here's one of my favorite dress rehearsal shots, of Geanna Fuenes as Laurencia and Alaina Holeman as Pascuala:
I'm very lucky in my work! Thank you for your interest! EC
